Ballet Recital

It's official - Caroline choked at her ballet recital. She never got out of first position and certainly did not smile while on stage. I guess that's a little better than running completely off stage screaming!! What can I say, the girl's got some stage fright and does not like being the center of attention. Oh, and she's 2. The ballet recital was super cute, despite the fact that our little ballerina was a statue on stage. The first thing she said when I went to get her was, "Mommy, I did not dance." Like I somehow missed that from where I was sitting in the audience. She wasn't the least bit upset about it though. It was just her choice not to dance this year. She had a wonderful time watching the other ballerinas dance and she LOVES her costume! Maybe next year...

Last Day of School

Our last day of school was last Wednesday, May 19th and we have had a wonderful year! Caroline and Rutland were both blessed with the most amazing teachers that love the Lord, love the kids, and love their job. I have also been blessed with the best job a mom can have - part time preschool teacher! Our school is awesome and has been such an answered prayer for our family. Caroline actually had 4 teachers this year: Mrs. Bethany & Mrs. Emily Joy were her 2's teachers that she had on Wed. and Fridays. Because Mommy taught on Mondays too though, she got to come with me and had Ms. Sitrice and Ms. Jessica on Monday. Mrs. Bethany & Mrs. Emily Joy - Caroline has learned so much this year and loves you both dearly. Many a day, she pretends that she is one of you and I am one of the friends in her class, and she gets to be the "Boss", which we all know she is great at! Ms. Sitrice and Ms. Jessica - you were so good with those kids on Mondays. She always came home wiped out from playing so hard and she loved you both!! Ms. Kina, Ms. Shaneka, Ms. NaShira - Rutland is NOT one to sit still very long, so thank you for letting him be his wild-self and loving him so. That child was spoiled rotten after a year with you. This summer is boot camp for him, so whoever he has next year won't be ready to pass him back to you! Thank you all so much and have a great summer. We will of course be seeing you a little bit on Wonderful Wednesdays :)

Ballet Costume!

Caroline got her ballet costume for her recital that is coming up at the end of the month. The parents went to ballet class to help get the kids dressed in their costumes for class that day, and then we left so they could have a "dress rehearsal". The girls were so excited I'm not sure much rehearsing went on, but they were adorable running around in those enormous tutu's. Rutland was right behind Caroline every step of the way - twirling and jumping. His daddy is going to have to explain to him that boys are not ballerina's and they don't wear high heel shoes! Any time Caroline's closet door is open, he picks up her Cinderella/Snow White/Belle/Sleeping Beauty high heel shoes and insists that I put them on him. And sadly, he's not that bad at walking in them. The only thing that makes me feel better is that Harris Crumpton ,who is all boy, loves them as much as Caroline does. Can't they make some hunting boots or men's dress shoes for little boys to wear??

Here is the little crossdresser with his purple purse!
